no title.
I don't know if anyone recalls that one goal I made a while back... the one where I promised a new blog post once a week? Well, I will be honest, today was the first time in a long time in which I actually remembered that I did make a blog post about it...... weeks and weeks after of a blog growing very slowly. (not once a week)
So, as I confess of my wrongdoings and feel extremely guilty, I will write a blog post.
*I actually don't feel necessariily guilty of not writing in my blog because, trust me, I could do much worse. And it just goes to show how often I don't actually keep to my goals.
Anywho! I have already spent a solid 8 months here in Germany, and I only have got another 9 weeks to go. Where in the world did that time go? I'll be honest, I have no idea. Everyday I am closer to America. Every day I am older than I've ever been in my life but also the youngest I will be in the future.
Although there are many things I love about Germany. One of those would have to be how they deal with pauses and breaks. Meaning making sure they have time to relax and what not.
School would be a great example of this. Everyday School starts at 8.10 after each 1 and half hours of lessons, the school get's an entire 15 minutes to chat, eat, relax, and whatever else you might want to do. School ends at 1.10 that is unless you have "Nachmittags unterricht" ( afternooon lessons) which will start at 2.10 meaning you have another hour to just chill, go into the city, eat, eat icecream, have some coffee and cake, lay on top of the giant wall, whatever you desire.
And then after you are done with class, if it's at 1.10 or 3.40.... when you get home, you kind of just hang around the house. No after school sports. Perhaps study for something (homework isn't the same here)
Anyways, as they do thoroughly enjoy their breaks that means school breaks, vacations, or holliday (whatever you want to call it) are a bit longer than those in the U.S and that's not including summer. SUch as Easter, we got 2 weeks off of school just to celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus.
and in 5 weeks I will get another 2 weeks off of school, after that I will head to Berlin for a few days, and then I will be on my way back home then to start summer in utah. Hooray for being super relaxed.
Which reminds me, I shoud probably blog about my easter adventures. That is, if this lazyitis doesn't encumber me too much.

bucket list
I have been in the movement of creating a bucket list here in Germany.
And guess what? we can check one of them off the list.

I got a haircut... finally. Was about time.
These things of the following are going to have to happen in germany.. or europe for that matter.
Go backpacking
Sleep outside under the stars
order a glass of milk with a shot of honey in a bar.
go swimming in a natural resource.
bake an american apple pie.
do a triathalon
and I am still coming up with some other things. And have already completed plenty.
85 days. Let's do this thing.

...
:)

She stood upon the top of the mountain. The wind rushing through her hair, through her veins she could feel the most powerful feeling of happiness and contentment. At that peak of the mountain, she could suddenly breath again.
"This is where I want to be for the rest of my life, no humans to verbally attack me with how they see me. No times to feel embarassed, hated. No one here to judge me."
She took that stand slowly into a sitting position, the thoughts still continued rushing through her mind. She soon realized that the thoughts flowing through her mind, were indeed no happy thoughts. She might feel better for a few a days, but she knew she couldn't run away from her troubles. In fact, she didn't even necessarily want to.
oh... exchange student problems, what would an exchange student do without them?
She sits on the front porch, the sun is shining brilliantly. Her legs dangle from the porch soaking in the rays of that brilliant sun. Winter is no more and she can trust that statement for the next 9 months. So American is playing in the background. A smile sweeps across her face.
Though some things seem like hell, there are moments that make it so much better.

such as a hike through the fraenkische schweiz and a dog named Nala. (like the lion in the lion king)

cool mirrors.

glowing globes.

America... and the leipziger buchmesse.

rad germans.

Witz

men with beards.

before the cutting of the hair.

downright sick
What absolutely embarrassing is, is that I cannot even count how many times I have gotten sick over in this land.
More than frustrating.... And what is more frustrating is that the constant stress that I put upon my shoulders is creating this madness.
So, I guess something has got to change. Irgendwie.

And this is what my soul feels like. "C'mon McKenna, you are in Germany!!!! get out there and enjoy it!!!!" yet, my body refuses to listen.
